The philosophizing ant by MissFlykt The philosophizing ant by MissFlykt
This ant picture I like a lot...
It looks (to me) like the ant, sat down to philosophize for a moment. It is extremely rare to see ants stay still, they run almost always around quite aimlessly.

Nicely captured. And great detail in this shot!

There is a book called "A Rustle in the Grass" that has an ant that like to philosophize things. This ant reminds me of him...

Yes, they are. It is exciting to photograph them, you never know what will happen or if it will be any good picture. They run most about all the time, little hopeless models. So once you get a good picture, it feels very good. :-)

I took home some ants, put them on a piece of bark in a bowl. I photographed with a macro lens, and it took hundreds of tries before I got to this image. Ants are small hopeless only models running around, but with great patience I got this picture.

Hello! Thanks so much for your nice comment. I photographed this ant on a piece of bark with little green moss on. This is one of my first macro shots. It was a lucky shot after several hours of photography. :-)

Thank you so much! You are right about my patience, I can confirm that it requires a lot of patience when to photograph ants. They're hopeless models mostly just running around like little maniacs. :-)
